## DAY 13, Boise ID Family Reunion
### Saturday July 23, 2022

### Breakfast and Pickle Ball
Went to Bill and Rich's house for breakfast and catching up with folks who were awake. Got arm-twisted into trying some ["Pickle Ball"](https://mitchdunn.medium.com/no-really-why-is-pickleball-so-popular-5a479966b1) with some.[--more--] My first time and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I am by no means "fit", but folks were accommodating. Pickle Ball has some strange rules and associated vocabulary. Lots of rules and experienced folks guided us but I needed constant reminders to [stay out of the kitchen](https://www.breakthelove.com/blog/players/what-is-the-kitchen-pickleball). Great Fun.

### Strolling
Later in the day we did some downtown Boise strolling. What fun. Walked around central [Capital City Public Market](https://www.capitalcitypublicmarket.com/). ONly on Saturdays, a conglomeration of local food, culture, crafts, and hand made products. We got a leather belt and a stained glass window hanger.

Walked through the [Basque Area](https://basquemuseum.eus/visit/who-are-the-basques/), asking myself who are the Basque's and [how did they get here](https://basquemuseum.eus/visit/the-basque-block/)? Beautiful architecture and atmosphere.

We then went then went to the [farmers market](https://theboisefarmersmarket.com/bfmwalkthru). The chefs in the group were picking out some great items for the evening's dinner. But for lunch, many of us enjoyed some [food truck brick oven pizza](https://www.instagram.com/solari.pizzeria.napoletana/).

Some folks went to the [Freak Alley Gallery](https://northend.org/freak-alley/); the northwest's largest open-air, multi-artist [mural gallery](https://www.freakalleyboise.com/). Interesting and fun concept that gets updated every year in one place.. See all the murals in one place. Very different concept from [Philadelphia's extensive mural arts program ](https://www.discoverphl.com/blog/city-of-murals/) throughout the entire city. Both are great programs promoting artists and community.

### The Main Event, Thai Dinner
The RPCV family reunion always includes a meal of abundant THAI cuisine. ALl prepared from scratch by a small group of wonderful folks who love to cook.
Photo of chefs
They feed over 50 people who came to celebrate with us.
There were at least 20 kinds of dishes prepared.
Ate buffet style throughout the house and back yard.
